Jubilee, whose real name is Jubilation Lee, is a mutant who can generate colorful explosive energy resembling fireworks. In the Marvel Rivals storyline, Jubilee and her fellow X-Men are affected by the Timestream Entanglement, which transports Krakoa to the year 2099. The temporal disaster has a devastating consequence for Jubilee: her adopted son, Shogo, becomes trapped in his dragon form. Desperate to find a way to help him, Jubilee travels to Thebes, hoping that the ancient mutant villain Apocalypse can provide a solution. Apocalypse offers her a deal. In exchange for his help, Jubilee agrees to become his Horseman of Famine, helping him absorb the faith of the gods. This places Jubilee in a difficult position: she wants to save her son, but doing so means serving one of the X-Men's most dangerous enemies.
